Innovation Trail, Boston
Cambridge, and Boston, Massachusetts has been the birthplace of some of the most groundbreaking discoveries, ranging from the navigational system that put the Apollo safely on the moon, to the decoding of the human genome. Recently, Boston's Innovation Trail enlisted Uncharted by design to develop a fresh brand identity and visual language.

To kick off the project, we delved deep into the various facets of the Innovation Trail, studying its locations and inventions. The more we immersed ourselves, the clearer it became that the new brand needed to exude confidence and be versatile enough to coexist with the many innovations it represents, acting as a lens into their fascinating worlds.


The brand identity needed to be adaptable enough to work in many of the needed channels. The acronym "ITB" became a lens for which innovations could be displayed.

The team designed a new digital expereince for Innovation Trail, Boston, featuring an interactive map of the innovation trail locations with detailed information about each location and the corresponding innovation. Some of the innovations showcased on the trail include Polaroid, Technicolor, The Broad Institute, The Whitehead Institute, Biogen, Moderna, and Draper labs.
